The Obligatory Links Page

Roleplaying

Steve Jackson Games one of the best roleplaying sites out there. Daily Illuminator is almost always fun and a good set of links to other industry pages. Oh yes, they publish some good games as well. Anyone got a China they want to trade?

Rob Barrett's Everweb Page Everway is one of the more interesting ideas to happen to roleplaying in the last couple of years. Alas while very interesting I've completely failed to get the game to work. Some people seem to be having more luck.

Phil Masters' (Second) Home Page A very nice page from one of the UK roleplaying industry's stalwarts. Good links, stuff that Phil's written and an up to date looking list of British conventions.
Kim Englund's RQ linkpage Lots and lots of RuneQuest links. Most of them talking about more conventional RQ than Moon Wars.

SF

The Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5 There are those that say Babylon 5 is the greatest bit of television since John Logie Baird first spun a disc. But it does have a very good web site. Possibly the best episode guide I've ever found.
SLIDERS FAQ - Episode Guide Sliders. If I'm honest it's not even as good as Babylon 5. But it does alternate history plots and it's the only thing that does.
Ansible Index Dave Langford's award winning fanzine in electronic form. Is it true that the Hugo awards are to include a 'Best Fan Writing outside of Ansible' catagory just so other people can get a look in?
Usenet Alternate History List, Overview If you enjoy alternate history fiction then this is the place to visit. Every story you can possible think of, sorted by authors, with details of which anthology collected the story and so on.

Astronomy

NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory Look some real science! Visit this site if you want to know what NASAs really up to.
The Nine Planets Wonderful solar system site. Everything you could want to know about the planets, moons and comets. Pictures (some of them big so I suggest turning images off unless you've a fast link), descriptions, mythic connections, pronunciations & even snatches of Holst! One of the few sites out there that really does something valuable with the 'Information Super-Highway.' This links to the Aberystwth mirror, but provides links to others across the world.

Computers

Demon Internet Limited My ISP. Generally very good. Ideally suits someone who'd got at least some idea what they're doing.

CCL Direct Mail order computer store based in Bratford, Yorkshire. I've found these people to be good. They deliver when they say they're going to and their prices are very good indeed.

Excite Search - U.K. Edition I suppose everybody needs A link to a search engine.

Fun

Youth Hostels I don't go walking enough, but when I do I wind up hostelling. The English YHA page has snippets on all their hostels and links to other Hostel pages. Handy for initial planning, but it doesn't tell you a lot you couldn't find from the handbook.

People

Kevin Cowtan's Page Kevin maintains a Scrabble page and lives on a boat. Except when the weather's foul when he turns up looking bedraggled. I think he's got some boat stuff as well, if you're into that sort of thing. Link to the very handy Railtrack timetables engine.(sooner or later I'll have alink to that myself, but can't remember the URL)

Andrew Rilstone's Page Andrew used to live with me but has almost recovered. He writes for Arcane. Or at least did before it sadly went belly up.

Stephen Watson's Page Oddly enough Stephen has never lived with me. Lots of useful RuneQuest stuff and links to other RQ pages. Stephen also has a version of my Donandar cult write up, but it may move over here some time.

The Heworth & Fulford Curmudgeon An E-zine run by friends. Focuses mainly on Films and stuff.
